On my iPod this week:
Belinda Carlisle Heaven Is A Place On Earth - Ah, one of my guilty pleasures. I love this song. Sure, it sounds just like Bon Jovi’s Livin’ On A Prayer, but who cares. This is one of the best songs ever. Bulimia, drug addiction, marriage to James Mason’s son, infidelity, groupies – the girl’s had quite a life!
Black Box Everybody, Everybody - Ride On Time was the monster club hit, but I prefer this laid back song with its cool summery vibe.
Green Day Boulevard of Broken Dreams - I’m not usually into rawk music, but this gentler track used to get played on heavy rotation on MTV a couple of years ago and I couldn’t escape it when I was working out at the gym. You know what it’s like, some songs just get into your head and you end up singing along.
Mylène Farmer California - Mylène in a relaxed mood in this track from her first album recorded in the US. “C’est sexy, le ciel de Californie”.
Red Hot Chili Peppers The Zephyr Song - I’ve always had a soft spot for the Red Hot Chili Pepper boys. I used to have a VHS tape of their songs and paid extra attention to the track they sang naked, except for wearing socks on their willies. Typical straight boys!
