Spanish model Andres Velencoso Segura poses with some naked woman in Vogue Hommes International Spring Summer 2008 magazine. I think the photographer asked the wrong model to be nude. We'd prefer Andres!

Now, I smell absolutely gorgeous and so do my armpits!

Not that I didn't already smell gorgeous you understand, but after deliberating for ages about which new scent to coat myself in, I chose Jean Paul Gaultier's Fleurs du Mâle. I've tried it previously but after rejecting it as too floral for me, it's grown on me over the last few months. Here's some PR guff:
Jean Paul Gaultier keeps gender-bending and revisiting past icons — most recently with his new fragrance, called Fleur du Male, due out this spring. The scent breaks conventional codes of men's scent. Most radical is its juice, containing notes of white, orange blossom flowers instead of geranium and lavender, staples in a traditional fougère men's fragrance. Second, Fleur du Male's bottle is completely white — a rarity for the fragrance industry, particularly in a marketplace awash with black fragrance flacons for men.
Its "revisited fern accord," with notes of petigrain leaf and coumarin, was created by Takasago's Francis Kurkdjian, also Le Male's perfumer. For Fleur du Male, he used a healthy dose of orange flower notes, generally found in women's fragrances and in colognes. BPI claims it to be the first time orange flower has been used in a men's scent."There is a new dimension to the Jean Paul Gaultier man," said Kurkdjian. "Orange flower is an ingredient that sticks in the memory more easily than most other top notes available," continued Gomez, who explained the white flowers are historically used in crowns for French brides, for instance. Added Kurkdjian, orange flower scent also evokes memories of childhood and innocence. "It is a flower Jean Paul adores," he said.
Gaultier adores movies, explained Vignal-Kenedi. She said that for Fleur du Male, he had in his mind the image from the film "American Beauty," in which actress Mena Suvari soaks in a bath full of roses. So, he signed photographer Jean-Baptiste Mondino to shoot model Andres Valencoso in a milky bath chockablock with white flowers. Print visuals will appear as single pages. "He wanted to show a happy man, like a pasha, something as simple, with a certain pleasure," she said. Sampling will include Sophisticates, among other formats.
I love the orange scent in this cologne, it's always been one of my favourite scents for candles. Plus, what I really like about Fleur du Mâle is that this fragrance really lasts for longer on the skin than others I've tried. It's doesn't just fade away in minutes, but subtly lingers on you and your clothes. Oh, and since I got mine in a gift set, my armpits smell gorgeous too as I've got the matching deodorant stick. If you ever get close enough to me, you're very welcome to come and take a sniff!

Les Fleurs du Male de Jean Paul Gaultier

Today, I had the day off work so I was just having a lazy, relaxing day. I got up late and, before going to the gym, decided to pop in a department store to pick out a new cologne. I've just finished my final drop of Acqua di Gio and thought it'd be a good change to get a new one for the winter months. Anyway, I was having a browse and picked up a test bottle of Jean Paul Gaultier's Fleurs du Male. I know that you can just spray those little sample strips of paper, but I prefer to put it on my skin as the scent can change so much when it's on you. Also, some scents smell kinda cheap on me. I like citrous or water scents and they work on me, but floral and musky ones can definitely smell funky when on me.
Ok, so that's why I sprayed some on around my neck and wrists. I mean, that's what the tester bottle's for, right? Anyway, this Perfume Counter Queen rushed up to me and lisped: "Would Sir like some assistance?" but before I could reply, he pursed his lips and hissed: "Or is Sir just having a spray?" then the Perfume Counter Queen did a quick about turn on his Cuban heels and sashayed away. What, did he think I was having a whore's shower? You know, when you can be bothered having a wash, so you just drench yourself in perfume and hope for the best.
Anyway, I was so mortified that I just put the bottle back down and left the department store. Oh, I can't stand pushy shop assistants, especially the ones who think that they're witty. So, what about the cologne? Well, it's certainly a stayer. I had a shower, spent an hour swimming, sat in the hot tub, spent a good half hour in the steam room (while being totally ignored by Hot Tattooed Guy) and then showered again, but I could still smell the Gaultier cologne on me. The thing is though, it turns out that it's not really my favourite. It reminds me of when you've got a vase of flowers but you leave them in too long without changing the water. You know that smell? Well, Fleurs du Male has a bit of that odour about it, that funky bottom of the vase when you've left flowers in way too long smell.
Ah well, the search continues! Please leave a comment if you have any recommendations for a new cologne for me. You gays have such good taste.

The English smoking ban finally arrives!

Yes, the smoking ban that has been successfully implemented in the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales finally comes to England. Oh, I'm so happy about this. Now, all you smokers out there needn't get all huffy with me, I'm asthmatic and I really prefer to go out without stinking of stale cigarettes afterwards.
I'd been wondering how it was going to be enforced tonight. I mean, are all the clubs going to ban smoking from midnight onwards and go around all the drunk clubbers making them stub out? No, for one a sensible decision has been made and the ban comes into force at 6am.
I was going to go out just to enjoy the smoke free enviroment, but since it only starts after 6am on Sunday morning, I'll wait until next week to do my carousing.
I know how sexy a smoker can look, just look at hot Spanish model, Andres Velencoso Segura, above. He's still as sexy below though, playing with some jewelry and shirtless with his braces.

Andres Velencoso Segura

"At the beginning I was a little more shy. But now I'm quite comfortable. I usually talk to the photographer before the shoot. I ask what we're shooting about, what kind of approach he's trying for. There has to be some communication. The kind of photographer that goes and shoots and doesn't say anything to you? That's the worst. But eventually you start to know how to move, how to work and what the photographer wants after some experience."
