Conservative dumbass Ann Coulter is still going on about how she's supporting Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination even though Coulter is a dried up old husk of a Republican. Anyway, old Bitch Features has written a piece about Hillary and Barack on her website and states that: "Now that Hillary has won three primaries in a row, it's time for Obama to do the classy thing and withdraw from the race. (Obama won Vermont, but that was earlier in the day. Exit polls indicate he took the black vote. Literally. There was just the one.)"
Written with her usual simple mindedness and disregard to common sense, Coulter thinks she's so goddamn irreverent and amusing, except she's not. She's just unpleasant, rude and downright nuts. Now we all know that she's actually supporting a Democrat, she's just fucking with our heads and trying to get some attention. In the end, the piece just seems to focus on urging Hillary to divorce Bill Clinton:
"This charade of a marriage has gone on long enough. Even if you were stupid enough to marry him back in the '70s, Bill is just so over, girlfriend. He can't even get Holiday Inn cocktail waitresses anymore. Last I heard, he was hitting on the Motel 6 housekeeping staff."
What, does Coulter think she's on Ricki Lake now? Damn foo'! Oh, but one good thing came out of this, I finally managed to track down a half decent photograph of Bitch Features. Sure, you can hardly see her face but that's why it's good!

Barack Obama's "Cherries for Change"?

Now this one tickled me. Radar has an article about Democratic Presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Barack Obama scored the coveted frozen treat endorsement yesterday when Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield—better known as Ben & Jerry—announced a new ice cream in his honor. The rather uninspired name: "Cherries for Change." Not surprisingly, some writers at conservative-leaning blogs are kindly offering up alternative names for Obama's flavor, with ideas ranging from amusing to outright offensive ...
• "Chocolate Promise"
• "Cherries Messiah"
• "Commie Crunch"
• "Lefty Licorice"
• "Trotsky Ice-Picnic"
• "Mocha Fluff"
• "Ice Cream Dream"
• "Nihili-Vanilli"
• "Nut 'n Substantial"
• "Chocful o' Hopee"
• "Obamanana Split"
• "Marx Bar Crunch"
• "ChocoNilla Swirl"
• "Barracky Road"
• "NeoPolitician"
My particular favourite is Obamanana Split. Well, it's the only one that isn't racist for a start, plus it's a funny play on his name and banana ice cream is absolute heaven. Um, I was trying to think of a name myself, but all I could come up with was Coconut Waffle. Sounds yummy doesn't it?

Barack Obama - the gays, denial and Donnie McClurkin

Poor Barack Obama has gotten into a pickle with this one! The Swamp reports that "a Gospel concert tour that the Barack Obama campaign has organized for this weekend is stirring controversy among some gay activists.
Grammy Award-winning gospel artist Donnie McClurkin, who has offended gay rights groups by promoting the view that homosexuality is a choice and that gays can be "cured," is among several gospel singers scheduled to campaign on behalf of Obama in South Carolina. McClurkin is one of the singers featured in the tour's finale on Sunday.
McClurkin, who is also a Pentecostal minister, has said he struggled with homosexual "demons" for 20 years--which he attributes to molestation as a child by male relatives--but is now straight."
I loved that he says he struggled with his homosexual demons, oh he's such a drama queen!
Anyway, Obama's not getting involved. Or at least his people are trying to make sure that he doesn't get involved too much. Well, maybe. A little bit. Obama's spokesman Ben LaBolt said that McClurkin is not going to be dropped, but Obama did issue the following statement:
“I have clearly stated my belief that gays and lesbians are our brothers and sisters and should be provided the respect, dignity, and rights of all other citizens. I have consistently spoken directly to African-American religious leaders about the need to overcome the homophobia that persists in some parts our community so that we can confront issues like HIV/AIDS and broaden the reach of equal rights in this country.
"I strongly believe that African Americans and the LGBT community must stand together in the fight for equal rights. And so I strongly disagree with Reverend McClurkin’s views and will continue to fight for these rights as President of the United States to ensure that America is a country that spreads tolerance instead of division."
Hmm, I dunno about all this. Ok, so this McClurkin seems like a bit of an asshole and he's probably deeply troubled, but what I don't like about all this is how Barack Obama is happy to use this guy to campaign for him yet at the same time he distances himself from him politically just to appease the gays and liberals. Talk about having your cake and eating it. If he really disagreed with him so strongly, he'd drop him like the negative publicity hot potato that he already is. Grow a pair already!

Barack Obama's stance on same sex marriage examined in The Advocate

I've been wondering about Barack Obama and, with his being a religious man and all, how he reconciles his Christian beliefs with his Liberal beliefs. The Rev. Irene Monroe has written an intelligent article in The Advocate about Obama and his views. You can read the entire article here but I thought I'd highlight an interesting point where Monroe examines the background of Obama's faith:
"MSNBC talk-show host Tucker Carlson suggests Obama's faith is "suddenly conspicuous," suggesting that Obama has only recently begun addressing his religious background as part of "a very calculated plan on the part of the Democratic Party to win" religious voters in the 2008 presidential race.
If Obama is indeed using religion to win votes, he unfortunately placed himself in a difficult quagmire—not only with LBGT voters but also with religious liberals. He worships in a conservative black church within a liberal denomination."
The frontpiece of Obama's website urges voters to Stand Up and Be Counted. Does that include LBGT voters, Barack?

Hillary Clinton gets on the Sanjaya bandwagon

The Boston Herald reports that Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton spent Friday answering New Hampshire's voters' questions including one about would-be American Idol, Sanjaya Malakar.
"During a radio call-in on WOKQ-FM, Senator Hillary Clinton was asked what the United States can do about Malakar, the television show’s underdog candidate who critics say lacks any shred of talent.
"That’s the best question I’ve been asked in a long time," Clinton said. "Well, you know, people can vote for whomever they want. That’s true in my election, and it’s true on American Idol."
While it's tempting to say "no shit, Hillary", she does right in pointing out the obvious. Sanjaya has polarised opinion and attracted hateful and racist comments. Commentators forget that it's not Sanjaya's fault that he's still in the competition, he's just trying his luck, just as it's not George Dubya's fault that he's the President. You voted for him, it's all your fault!
Unlike Sanjaya, Hillary Clinton is at the top of the polls and fundraising. In an April 3rd New Hampshire poll sponsored by CNN and WMUR-TV, 27% favored Clinton, followed by John Edwards with 21% and Barack Obama at 20%.
Remember how last year's American Idol attracted more votes in its final than have ever voted for a President? Get voting folks!

Creater of anti-Hillary Clinton Apple 1984 ad revealed as Phil de Vellis

Hilary Clinton-bashing spoof '1984' ads made headlines on appearance on YouTube recently – but now their creator has been sacked, reports claim. Phil de Vellis was the creator and you can read all about it on his blog.
The spoof took Apple's iconic '1984' ad and replaced the menacing Big Brother image with that of Senator Clinton. It instead recommended Democratic hopeful Barack Obama for the President's chair.
In his blog, de Vellis says "I am a proud Democrat, and I always have been. I support Senator Obama. I hope he wins the primary. (I recognize that this ad is not his style of politics.) I also believe that Senator Clinton is a great public servant, and if she should win the nomination, I would support her and wish her all the best.
I've resigned from my employer, Blue State Digital, an internet company that provides technology to several presidential campaigns, including Richardson's, Vilsack's, and -- full disclosure -- Obama's. The company had no idea that I'd created the ad, and neither did any of our clients. But I've decided to resign anyway so as not to harm them, even by implication.
This ad was not the first citizen ad, and it will not be the last. The game has changed."

Ann Coulter refuses to apologise, says that the word "faggot" isn't offensive to gays!!

Fox News carries a story about Borat in a skirt, Ann Coulter. Besieged in the press and by three Republican presidential candidates, Coulter defended herself by saying she was mocking political correctness in America, not homosexuality. Ann Coulter has the impudence to say that "'faggot' isn't offensive to gays; "It has nothing to do with gays." Coulter said on FOX News' Hannity and Colmes, "it's a schoolyard taunt meaning 'wuss,' and unless you're telling me that John Edwards is gay, it was not applied to a gay person."
Some people applaud Ann Coulter for speaking out against Political Correctness, but I disagree. I don't think she’s done anything laudable. I think she is a coward. Let her call John Edwards a faggot if that’s what she truly believes. But the remark is later excused as just being a harmless joke that everyone is over-reacting about. This is damage limitation, Ann Coulter style, only she’s such a klutz, she can’t even keep her mouth shut for long enough to limit any damage, she’s just doing more!
The whole context of the remark reminds me of a shyster lawyer making an inadmissable remark in court knowing full well that it’ll have to be retracted. Well the jury hears the it anyway and the remark still has the desired effect once it’s said out loud. So John Edwards will now forever be known as the guy that Ann Coulter called a faggot. What do you reckon of his chances now? One down, two to go. I wonder what she’s cooking up for Hillary and Obama!
By the way, I had the usual problem of finding an acceptable photograph of Ann Coulter. Who the heck said this woman was hot?

Ann Coulter faces fallout after bringing homophobia to the Presidential trail, calls John Edwards a "faggot"!!

The hilariously offensive conservative columnist Ann Coulter is drawing fire from Republicans and Democrats alike after publicly using a derogatory gay slur in reference to Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards. Taking inspiration from homophobic actor Isaiah Washington, she called Edwards a "faggot". Coulter made the comments on Friday during a speech at the influential American Conservative Union’s Political Action Conference.
“Ann Coulter not only once again went out of her way to use a nasty epithet, she pushed her offensiveness up a notch,” Amy Ridenour, president of the National Center for Public Policy Research, said on Sunday. Coulter had the impudence to say thats the comment was a joke and on her Web site she carried the speech with the comment, “I’m so ashamed, I can’t stop laughing.” She then said Edwards’ campaign chairman’s main job was “fronting for Arab terrorists.”
Normally, I try to helpfully provide a link to relevant websites in my postings, but Coulter's official website has been slow to load, plus it's very badly designed so you may want to skip it and content yourself with reading an archive of her articles here if you really want to punish yourself.
Meanwhile, John Edwards finally responded on Sunday to the remark by Coulter and said he condemned the slur, but was tight-lipped about his opinion of her.
"I think its important that we not reward hateful, selfish, childish behavior with attention," Edwards told reporters in Berkeley, Calif. "I also believe that is important for all of us to speak out against language of this kind; it is the place where hatred gets its foothold, and we can't stand silently by and allow this kind of language to be used." His website has a headline declaring "Shame on you, Ann Coulter!" with a clip of the offensive comment.
Even The American Conversative Union has criticised Coulter, releasing the following statement yesterday: “Ann Coulter is known for comments that can be both provocative and outrageous. That was certainly the case in her 2007 CPAC appearance and previous ones as well. But as a point of clarification, let me make it clear that ACU and CPAC do not condone or endorse the use of hate speech,” said David A. Keene, ACU Chairman.
Well, if that's the case, then why on earth did they ask Ann Coulter to come and speak in the first place? With Coulter, you know exactly what you're getting: a third rate, politically frustrated, mean spirited misogynist. In leather. I wonder about her, maybe her Mom and Dad didn't hug her enough when she was a kid. Whatever the reason, we all know what she's like and her bigotry is no surprise. Let's wait and see what colourful slurs she uses against Obama!
By the way, I had to search high and low for a half decent photograph of Coulter... I don't want any skanks on here.

Hillary Clinton opposes "don't ask, don't tell" military policy in speech to gay activists

In a keynote speech on Friday, Democrat Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton told the Human Rights Campaign that she wants a partnership with gays if elected president.
Hillary Clinton also said she opposes the "don't ask, don't tell" policy regarding gays in the military that was instituted during her husband's presidency.
"I am proud to stand by your side," Clinton said. "I want you to know that this is exactly the kind of partnership we will have when I am president," Clinton told the group. "I want you to know that just as you always have an open door to my senate office, you will always have an open door to the White House and together we can continue this journey."
Clinton's husband Bill Clinton was president when the Pentagon instituted the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, which says gays may serve in the military only if they keep their sexual orientation private. In 1999, as she prepared to run for the Senate from New York, Clinton publicly opposed that policy.
Previous to Bill Clinton's administration, gays were flatly forbidden from serving in the military, but Hillary Clinton said it would be safer for the nation if openly gay soldiers, sailors, Marines, and airmen could wear the uniform. "This policy doesn't just hurt gays and lesbians, it hurts all our troops and this to me is a matter of national security and we're going to fix it," Clinton said. Clinton's chief rivals for the Democratic nomination, John Edwards and Barack Obama, have also declared that they would favour repealing the policy.
She also attacked the Bush administration for making political appeals based on gay rights issues, vowing that her presidency would mark "the end of leadership that has politicized the most personal and intimate issues."
Well, all I can say is that it's about time. In this day and age, it looks like we finally have a presidential candidate who will stand up for equal rights for all, irrespective of race, gender, religion or sexuality. I don't know why the otehrs find this basic principle so difficult. I like Hillary, I know she can come across as a bit shrill and calculating but she's working on that, at least she's getting out there and meeting people. Maybe she should think about having that makeover suggested by Donatella Versace..

Donatella Versace says that Hillary Clinton needs a make-over

In the newspaper today, there was a typically unflattering photograph of our favourite glamorous designer, Donatella Versace. It reminded me of an amusing story from last month. In case you missed it, Donatella Versace gave an interview to Germany's weekly newspaper Die Zeit where she said that U.S. presidential candidate Hillary Clinton should tap into her feminine side and wear dresses and skirts instead of trousers.
"I can understand (trousers) are comfortable but she's a woman and she is allowed to show that. She should treat femininity as an opportunity and not try to emulate masculinity in politics," la Donatella said. Skirts should reach to the knee and be worn with a short jacket or coat, she said. The best color would be black rather than the blue Clinton currently favors, she added. "I admire her for her determination, which will hopefully take her to the White House."
Well, you have to agree that Donatella Versace is a very successful designer, but sometimes her fashion choices miss the mark. I mean, would you like to see Hillary in a get-up similar to the one that is wearing Donatella Versace in the photo above? I doubt that Hillary would suit a spray tan, press on nails and acrylic hair extensions. Then again, a fabulous Donatella Versace inspired makeover for Hillary Clinton could just give her the edge over Obama and maybe jaded voters would get the kick up the ass they need!
