Playing mind games with Hot Tattoo Guy in the steam room

After my usual lunchtime swim, I popped into the steam room as usual to help clear my sometimes wheezy asthmatic chest. Well, I wasn't alone as there was this really ripped guy in there. No, it wasn't Frederic Michalak from Les Dieux du Stade, but he had a tattoo just like him so he'll do for the sake of illustration. If you're wondering how I could see this tattoo, it was because he wasn't wearing shorts or a speedo, just a towel.

Anyway, Hot Tattoo Guy kept looking over (and don't say that you didn't see that one coming!) while adjusting his towel and letting it drop lower and lower. A couple of times he let the towel drop completely while he stood up to pour more water onto the steam room sensor to force steam to come in, allowing me to take in his marvellous body in all its naked and toned glory. The thing is though, at no point did he acknowledge his clearly flirtatious behaviour. I mean, I could be mistaken, but I seriously doubt it.

Each time I looked over, he suddenly looked away and then frowned, as if he was bothered by my being in there. See, what I don't get is why someone would behave like that, but then seem to act all innocent when you try to look them in the eye. I left the steam room for a break and a cool shower and Hot Tattoo Guy followed me and used the shower cubicle opposite me even though the shower area was otherwise empty.

By this time it was getting late and I had to get back to work. I would've stayed and tried to figure him out, but I simply didn't have the time. I don't know whether he was simply being too subtle for me, or whether I completely misread the situation, but sometimes it's nice when a guy just takes his cock out and waves it at you. No ambiguity there!

Ben Cohen shows some skin for his 2008 calendar

Just when I'd given up hoping that an English rugby player would do a hot calendar like those naughty Dieux du Stade rugbymen, here's the decidedly cublike Ben Cohen looking comfortable posing shirtless in his pyjama bottoms and taking a shower. Aw, look at all that chest hair! This would make a lovely present for the man in your life. Or woman I suppose, if you're that way inclined.

England beat France 14-9 in Paris and reach the Final!

So, all of England is cock-a-hoop about England beating France in the semi-final and reaching the Rugby World Cup Final next week. Aw, bless 'em, the English don't win at much so it's touching to see them so fired up about the rugby. I didn't watch the match of course, I just saw the results on the news this morning. My only interest in rugby is the Dieux du Stade calendar.

Oh, and by the way, I wonder if captain Jonny Wilkinson will finally agree to the England team doing a nude calendar if they win again. I mean, it's not as if he's never taken his clothes off. Here's our hunky captain Jonny in 2001 when he was less shy about bearing all.

Broken Faces - French rugbymen by Denis Rouvre

You know those hot Dieux du Stade French rugbymen that I keep going on and on about? Well, photographer Denis Rouvre shows us a very different side to French rugbymen in stark contrast to the buffed and polished calendar of the Dieux du Stade.

"During 2006, Denis Rouvre, travelled throughout France to cover a majority of the Top 14 (French Rugby Championship) encounters all the way to the finals. Match after match he was granted access to the locker rooms and brought back a raw reportage, because caught in the act, yet oddly sensitive. Identical frames, tight focus: 220 rugby players from every club agreed to be photographed after the match. Bruised, grimy, bandaged, these smiling or grimacing faces reveal the impacts, the high stakes, the solidarity. This book of 160 portraits pays tribute to the spirit of the game and to surpassing oneself."
